In the next couple weeks school bells will begin to ring with the start of yet another school year. Even though my children have grown and are out of school it will soon be time for grandchildren to dust off the pencils and crayons and book bags for another year of learning.
I remember finishing my formal learning in 1989, but I still learn new things almost every day. Whether it be at church on Sunday or just in everyday conversations with family and friends or on the internet.
I am taking a break from writing for awhile. Just can't get motivated right now. How is everyone? August is near half over.

Life's busy and I haven't had much time for writing either. I agree with you, though, that we can learn new things almost every day, especially when you teach Sunday School. 12 and 13 year olds keep you hopping to keep them motivated and interested in subjects they ordinarily aren't interested in.

Yep, the usual, busy life. Not writing much either, though I was through July, and it felt good.
We finally moved into a rental home and we should be closing to sell our house next week and then they can start building our new home and should be done within six months. So things will hopefully start settling down after we close and give the details for our new house. And hopefully then I can start writing again.

Today is my uncle Wade's birthday. He would be 59. Died several years ago from diabetes complications. I wrote a tribute to him called "A Cowboy Ain't No Ordinary Man"-available on Kindle. Happy birthday, Uncle Wade. I love you.

As irony would have it, I told my daughter I was having trouble writing my query letter for Bridge to Destiny, and she asked if she could review it. She is incredible. I've now been back and forth with her several times, each helping more and more. I know she's a busy gal, with a toddler and fulltime job, but she loves writing almost as much as I do and I discovered she is writing her own novel -- Way to go Kristen!!! I think her comments, while difficult to bear, have been VERY helpful. I think I'll be able to send off a good query this time.

Always good to get another perspective on things Paul. I dread hearing about all the things I'll need to change to make my writing better; but at least you've gotten to that point. I still probably have another year before mine are even ready to be submitted to anyone to give critique on. Anyway, we should sell our house this Thursday, so that makes me happy, and then hopefully I can return to a less busy life... besides working extra hours at work each day.

Don't feel bad, Mike. A year from now isn't bad. Consider that I've been working on my first novel for nearly 30 years. One would think I'd have given up on it by now, LOL.
