We're a bit behind in posting this month, and it's a short one to boot. I just thought I'd post this here just in case someone is interested. My private on-line critique group, The Writer's Pen (PEN) (a sub-forum in the Authors by Design writers forum) is still open for new members. The PEN is for serious writers seeking publication. We are looking for writers of fiction (novels or short stories). We are open to most genres: Young adult, fantasy, sci-fi, light horror, romance, steampunk, mainstream, etc. Absolutely NO pornography, Satanism or mockery of any God-based religion. Members must be willing to post something (chapter/short story) by the 4th of each month, up to three posts not to exceed 6,000 words total. Members must also critique ALL posts by the last day of each month. If you think this group would be for you, contact me at paulwwest@yahoo.co. authorsbydesign.blogspot.com/2013/01/being-writer-was-lonely-life.html

Good luck with your writing/critique group, Paul. My slow slow paced writing style doesn't really lend itself to having to produce something tangible quite so often. I do see the benefits of the association, however. Anyway, it appears my publisher for Culpability and Absolution has moved the release date for sometime in the spring. I will still let everyone know when I hear the date for sure.
It was great to see T. Lynn's post last week. Good to hear things are going well for her and her family and she's staying busy. Now I notice it has been several weeks since our Tri-cities friend has posted. Hope all is well with her.
Work on my Samuel Brown story is on a "I just being lazy" hiatus. Hopefully, motivation will come to me because I really want to finish it.

Wow! I got a nibble from a top agent!!! Here's what it says:
Thanks for your query. Mind sending along the first five pages of your manuscript in the body of an e-mail? I'd be happy to take a look and let you know whether I'd be a good fit for the style of the project. Thanks, Andrea Somberg
I know it ain't much, but it could turn into something. Who knows.
I'll let y'all know what happens (probably nothing - don't want to hold my breath too long, lol).

Are we dead again? What's everyone been up to? Any writing?
I still haven't heard back from Mrs. Somberg. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I'm crossing my fingers but not holding my breath.

Not completely dead. I have been visiting my brother in Phoenix area for the last several days. Got home late last night. No writing recently. Still hoping the best for you, Paul.

Thanks Charlie. I'm glad the site isn't totally dead yet. I miss everyone. How can we revitalize this site? Any ideas?
