Hurrah! The Lost Curse came in the mail today, though I have to wake up early tomorrow so I won't get to reading any of it tonight... ok, maybe just the Prologue.... and chapter 1.

I get moody. Been that way all day. So tonight I just gave up and went into the office and wrote a song. Maybe now I'll feel better.
By the way, this next week I hope to make a rough draft of my next CD. I am calling it "The Great Divide". My original working title was Halloween Blues because all the songs are about death, dying, ghosts, love spanning death etc. What is really fun is that my son is doing three of the songs with me.
Something about blues that just makes one feel better. Or is it just me?

Yes, Gary. There's something about being "blue" that brings out the creativity in me too. Maybe it's like Sachiko says, it's cathartic.
Working on my latest 2-page synopsis. My critique group has helped a lot and I think it's going to be the best one I've written so far.

Way to go, Paul! I haven't sent anything in to an agent or otherwise forever. I did get my column sent in this week. I haven't even had time to read T. Lynn's book yet. My son came to town unexpectedly and now we have our 9 yr old grand daughter for ten days. It just seems like something interrupts every day. I think part of my problem is not having a clear idea of where I am going with this. Traditional publication? Electronic? Forget about it? What is strange is that I can't stop writing, even though I have no great hope, or plan, for it ever becoming anything. I write columns, stories, songs, letters: yet I have no idea why. Well, my current interruption today is to give a lecture on bees at a retirement community, then help with the farmers market tonight. Oh yea, and we are arranging a showing of the documentary "The Vanishing of the Bees" for September. Interesting film. Just finished reading a Brian Sanderson book. He is LDS at BYU and writes fantasy. It was an interesting story, good characters, thoughtful premise. But could have been told in about 1/3 the pages. Way, way, way too much description of clothes, food, towns, battles, you name it. It is also a series so it doesn't end. I won't be reading the sequel. Only finished this because my son recommended it and seemed to like it. (You have to know my son. He doesn't recommend. He pesters. And pesters. And pesters. Until you give in. It was easier to read over 1000 pages of description than put him off. )

Gary, have you checked Utah State University's web site? Their extension specialist, Marion Murray, just posted an article in his quarterly magazine on bees. Go to utahpests.usu.edu/htm/utah-pests-news.

Excellent resource, Paul. We are trying to duplicate something like that over here, but without the resources of a land grant University to back us up. Wish I could attend some of their things, but they are at least six hours away. Thanks for alerting me though.

Just finished reading The Lost Curse. Great story, T. Lynn. I think it is even better than your first book. (Don't get the title though.) Congratulations. I will now pass it on to my grand children. I don't mean to cut into your sales, but I really can't afford to buy one for every grand kid. I have seventeen. The rest of you will definitely want to read this.

Just got back from Rhode Island. If you can ignore Providence, and all its suburbs, it's a lovely state. Lots of trees, lakes, ocean front and beaches, and TONS of great restaurants -- especially Italian restaurants.
Due to the above, I haven't done any writing during the past week, and probably won't get to do any this week either as I'm trying to get caught up with backlogged work. But my next acquisition will be T.Lynn's The Lost Curse.

Good going Gary. That's a lot to write in one day.
I just finished writing the first 2 chapters of "Johnny Sweeting's Story" and submitted it to my critique group. That felt good too.
And T. Lynn, I finally got your book. I'm almost to the 3rd chapter already and I can't put it down, except to write and do my work.'
Did I ever tell everyone here what the definition of work is? NO? OK, here goes. "Work is defined as something you have to do when you'd rather be doing something else."
That's not my words, but I can't remember who said that.
