Charlie,
What is your email address? If you want, I can give it to Dora, the administrator of Authors by Design and she can send you instructions on how to get into the site, or sign you up herself.

OK, I'll try to let Dora know and maybe she'll contact you. No promises, though.
I hope your Creatspace works well for you.
As for my submission to Cedar Fort, I've not heard anything yet, but it's a bit early.

OK, here is Dora's reply:
"Hi Paul,
"You friend had registered but his account was pending because he didn't confirm his e-mail address. I approved his account so he'll be able to just log-in now smile.gif
"Some times, depending on the e-mail they use the confirmation email might be considered spam by their e-mail account. So it probably ended up in his spam or junk folder.
"Please let your friend know that he can just get in now with the username and password he used to sign up.
"Dora"
So, you're in. Go ahead and sign in and brows around. You'll find me as "Carquinez."

Ha, ha, ha. I sent off two queries to a couple of agents I found on the web. The first one didn't say how long she would take to respond, but did respond, within the hour - Reject.
The second won't respond right away, but did say she would respond within the month.
Here's to not holding my breath.

Good luck with the queries, Paul.
I hope this forum continues even if the activity is limited. Even if just two or three are communicating I think it is worth it. The thing I've appreciated about the people that have posted here is it was okay to talk of the church and the gospel, not only as it related to the things we write, but also just to speak on what it means to us. Certain things are more important to me than others and the church is one of them. So, even though we may visit elsewhere, Paul and Mike, I hope we can still come here and talk of things relating to our writing and the things we believe in.
For others who may visit I'd like to tell you my new book, which is self-published through CreateSpace, is titled Destination Zion: Samuel Wright Brown's Life Journey. It should available at Amazon in a week and other locations soon after that. It is written under my given name, C. Allen Moore. Hope you'll take a look.

I agree with you Charlie. I've enjoyed being able to discuss the gospel and even how it relates to our writing. I just wish we could get everyone back. I miss them all. And where is Gary? Doesn't he own this forum?
I saw your introduction at Authors by Design (AbD). I'm anxious to get a copy. Where can I find it? My wife and I love Mormon history. That's probably my favorite genre.
Regardless of what happens at AbD, if this forum persists, I'll be coming back to it from time to time.

I suspect everyone just are busy with other things and this forum kind of got forgotten. Sachiko and Mike both have large families to care for. T. Lynn also has her family, job and she is now a writer with more of a demand on her schedule I'm sure. Perhaps Gary has chosen to focus on his music. That seems to be his passion more than writing.
If you'd be willing to send me your mailing address I'd be happy to send you a copy of Destination Zion, signed. All I'd ask is that, if you like it, you'd tell people around your neck of the woods about it. Word of mouth promotion always helps.
Email is candt.moore at(replace with @) gmail . com

I'd be glad to do that. I started reading it where you have it for sale (is it Amazon?). I thought it was well written. Thank you for the offer. I'll be glad to spread the word.
My mailing address is:

Thank you for the offer.

Hi Charlie,
I got your book. Can't wait to read it. I have to finish and the stupid Harry Potter books my daughter is forcing me to read first, LOL. Thanks again for sending it. It's definitely on my next book agenda.

My wife stole it from me. Now I gotta wait until she finishes it.
Such is life.
I don't know if you saw my notes at AbD indicating that I'm quitting as moderator of "The Writer's Pen" but yes, I am quitting. I will keep my membership in AbD, but at least I won't have to take up so much of my time critiquing and moderating and can spend what little free time I have writing. My writing may never get published, but like you, I figure my kids and grandkids, and maybe even great grandkids might read them and enjoy them.
I also intend to spend more time researching my family history. My wife and I figure we ain't gettin' no younger, so we need to do what we can, and eventually maybe serve a mission.
