Thanks Charlie.
B&N already has my book for sale, if anyone wants to buy the NOOK or Kindle versions. I haven't had many bites from them, however.
We're just about on our way to Bear Lake with a night's stay in a cabin in Logan Canyon. Don't have much time to write. I'll try to do better when I get back.

Ha ha ha!!! Great news???
I got my royalty statement for the month of May.
I sole two copies and got a whopping $3.00
Let's hope my marketing efforts since then have sold a few copies.
BYW, Did I ever send you an electronic copy? I can send free copies to my friends, just send me your email address and I'll send you the file.
BTW, how are you and your family. My son with the twin boys is coming out to visit this coming week. They're living in Minnesota. I Can't wait to see them.

Good to hear from you, Paul. That's excellent about your huge royalty payment. Mine are usually lower if you can believe that. At least there is some activity. You never know when the right person might read it and helps promote it and it takes off. Keep you head up and keep working on new material.
That's wonderful about your son and family coming to visit. Our daughter just moved to Houston so we're having "missing her" syndrome. She's 31 but hasn't really ever lived very far from mom and dad.
I'm starting a busy day so I'll say so long. Keep in touch! BTW, I posted a response on Sachiko's FB page concerning the General Authorities and how we shouldn't question official church doctrine. It received quite a few responses.

I've started writing a sequel to Bridgetown High. It's going slow because I don't have time to do much creative writing. My day job gives me plenty of technical writing to do.
I'll have to look at Sachiko's FB page. It sounds interesting.
Ha ha, I just got my bank statement showing the whopping $3.00 royalty payment. They took out $2.00 for service fees. Can't win. I need to contact the bank and see if there's a better kind of account.
Well, I gotta go. We have a wedding reception to do at Log Haven reception center up Mill Creek Canyon. I've only been there once before and it is a beautiful place in a beautiful setting.
You didn't answer if you want a copy of my book. I can send it as a Kindle copy or a PDF version.

Email address is candt.moore@gmail.com. How's are things, Paul? I buggered up my knee the other day so I've been limping and taking ibuprofen. It isn't intense pain just bothersome. My wife and I thinking of driving to the open house for the Star Valley temple (about two hours away). Is your Bridgetown sequel a continuation of the story or something independent of the first book. I wish I could find writing motivation again. Perhaps I will. I do stay busy but it isn't like I'm going every minute. Anyway, hope all is well in your home and you're enjoying family.

Hi Charlie,
Yes, my sequel is a continuation of the first book, "Bridgetown High." It's not coming the way I'd like. When I wrote "Bridgetown High" I didn't envision it as having a sequel, so I tied up most of the loose ends. OK, so there's a few I can use, but I need to make up more plot points, terrible troubles, if you will, to make the sequel come alive like the first. I'm kind of like you, I'm having trouble getting into the muse, though I have 32 pages written, now.
Dean Koontz said, when you have writer's block, or you lose the muse, go back to a few pages of what you last wrote, making small edits along the way, and by the time you get to where you left off, you'll be back in the muse. It works for me. I hope it will work for you too.
Over the upcoming holiday, Labor Day, my wife and I are going to Colorado to visit our daughter who is attending Colorado State University to get a PhD in psychology. I'm looking forward to getting away.
I'll send you a copy of "Bridgetown High." I'll send it as a .MOBI file, usable on Kindle, unless you need it as a pdf file. Either one works. I hope you enjoy it, and if you feel so inclined consider writing a review and posting it on my Amazon page (https://www.amazon.com/dp/1680583093/ref=cm_sw_su_dp)
Thanks, Paul

Hi Paul, Sorry I've been absent for awhile. Haven't forgotten about you, just been busy. We've had a couple service projects (fall cleaning/wood gathering) in our ward recently for families whose health is diminished. Also, have some of our children staying with us. Our son, who lives in Cheyenne, is here with his wife and two children. It is good to see them and visit. I get to teach the High priests this Sunday so I get to prepare for that.
I still haven't done much in the way of writing. Not sure what my problem is. I just can't seem to kick myself in gear. Hope you're doing better than me. Anyway, take care and I hope life is treating you well. C
Charlie

Hi Charlie,
I totally understand being busy. This afternoon we are leaving for California to see my Mom and Sister. Don't know if any other siblings will be coming. She is getting elderly (81) and has some heart problems. I need to give her a blessing. We'll be back Sunday evening. I'm not sure how we're going to hear General Conference.
Speaking of teaching the High Priests. It was my turn to teach them in first Sunday in November. BUT, our regular Teaching of Our Times teacher got sick and gave me one day's notice that he couldn't teach. OK, so fortunately I'd been planning out my November's lesson and only had to put on the finishing touches. Not as good as I'd hoped, but the lesson went well, lots of discussion. I call that one of the Lord's Tender Mercies. I made a deal with our regular teacher, however, that he would teach my lesson in November. He was glad to do that.
So far, I haven't found much time to write, but I have written about 50 or so pages and I think, whenever I get a chance, the story is coming along fine. I'm actually feeling the muse. I understand your problem. It's hard to begin, sometimes. That is, until you come up with an idea of what you want to write. If you're in the middle of a writing project, go back a few pages, or even a chapter, and begin reading, making minor edits as you go along, and by the time you come to where you left off, you should be in the muse.
I hope that helps.
BTY, are you on Facebook? You can follow me there and maybe get some ideas from me and other writers. Good luck.

Well, my wife and I finally got home from a long vacation. It was 10 days, but seemed longer because we traveled a lot. First we stayed in Cheyenne (where our son and daughter-in-law live). The next 2 nights were spent in Bellevue, NE. I was stationed at Offutt AFB nearby during my military days and I wanted to show my wife some of that area. It was the first time I'd been there since leaving in 1979. We also went to the Winter Quarters visitor center, cemetery and temple (temple was closed at the time). Next we drove to Keokuk, IA on the Mississippi about 12 miles from Nauvoo and Carthage. We saw as much church history as we could in 2 days including taking time to do an endowment in the Nauvoo temple. From there we went to Branson, MO to see the sights and see a couple shows. We spent 3 days there. After Branson we started home. Spent the night in Colby, KS, then in Vernal, UT last night and got home about 4 hrs ago.
How are thing going for you, Paul? And your family? I hope all is well. I will certainly be glad when all this political stuff is over. I don't support either major presidential candidate so not sure what I'll do come voting day. I do catch some of your Facebook posts although I don't visit there often. Usually every couple days or so. My handle there is JoshuaBerry which is the pen name I used before deciding to switch to my given name. Have a good day. Keep writing.

Wow, that sounds like a lot of traveling. I'm glad you had a good time.
Sorry for taking so long to get back with you, but I was on vacation too, and when I got back I had tons of backlogged work to do. I'm finally getting around to catching up.
My wife and I flew first to Rhode Island to visit her one remaining aunt (89) and one remaining uncle (95). We also spent some time with some of her cousins. After that, we flew down to Virginia to visit our daughter and her family. Virginia is a beautiful state. My wife wants to move back east when I retire and if I have to do that, Virginia would be where I would like to go -- but the cost of living there is horrible, so I don't know if that will work.
I'm trying to find time to write and to some degree I've been successful. I have 7 chapters written now of the sequel to Bridgetown High.
Also, today I'm putting my novel on sale for FREE -- November 22 thru 26. After that it will go back to $3.99. My publisher says it helps to do this so as to get a higher ranking on Amazon so they will be more likely to push it. I'm not so sure I agree, but time will tell. What I'm afraid will happen is everyone who wants a copy will get the free copy and no one else will want it. I'll see when the sale is over.
As for Trump, I'm not crazy about him, but just maybe if he'll do what he says, he might turn out to be a good president.
I hope you and your family are doing well. Write back when you can.
Paul

I'm not sure about Trump either. Time will tell. I always thought saying Pres. Obama sounded strange (weird), but saying Pres. Trump sounds even stranger. I find it interesting he's having conversations with Romney after Romney said what he said about Trump. All I know is glad Hillary wasn't elected. I was surprised by the outcome. Of course, there has to be the usual challenge of the vote and possible recount.
Glad you had a good vacation with family. I was stationed at Ft. Belvoir, VA in 1975. Just outside of D.C. I remember it being very scenic and historic. Haven't been back there since.
Well, we're about to start 2017. Another year almost complete and I did very little writing. I did write some. So once again I'll commit to write more in the coming year. We'll see how that goes. Sounds like even with being busy you're moving forward with your sequel. I wish you luck and good writing.
We got our first snow overnight. Still snowing now. Got to go. Take care, Paul. Did you notice someone joined this forum recently but has remained silent so far.

Hi Charlie,
I know how you feel about Trump. But, so far, he's doing OK. Time will tell whether I can endorse him.
I'm still trying to write the sequel to Bridgetown High. It's going slow because I I can't think of what to write about. I've got 10 or so chapters written, up to 55 pages, but now I'm stuck. I like what I've written so far, but I'm running out of ideas. If you read my blog (www.paulwwest.com), you'll see what I'm thinking to do, i.e. write portions, chapters, scenes, etc., without any reason for them at first, then cut and paste them where they fist best. That's kind of how Jack London used to write, only he didn't have a computer, so he would post scenes on the clothes line and move them around until they made sense. Actually, I've pretty much done that my whole writing career.
I don't know if that helps or not, but maybe you can try it. At least, unlike London, we have computers.
And, no. I haven't seen a new member. It would be great if he/she would come and join us. I wish T Lynn, Sachiko (sp.), and others would come back. I miss them.
So, good luck with your Christmas shopping. We're just about done. Just gotta wrap the gifts for the little ones. The older ones get money. That's an easy way to shop.
Write back soon.
Paul

Well, it seems Christmas is almost here. I let my wife do most of the shopping, but I still need to get something for her. One of the things we try to do is go to Maddox, near Brigham City for dinner. Not sure what else to get for her. Of course, what is most important to both of us is remembering Jesus Christ, our Savior, during this season. This will also be the first Christmas we've been home for a few years. We've spent the last few in Arizona at my brothers. I always thought it kind of strange to wake up Christmas morning to 70 degrees.
I've decided to get back to writing soon. How much I'll get done or how long it will last I don't know. I like your suggestion to write out random scenes although I've never written like that. Maybe I'll give it a try. I haven't given up completely. I believe there is still some good writing left in me. Even if it's only good to me.
I hope all is well with you and your family, Paul. Have a wonderful holiday season. Remember Jesus.

Thanks Charlie. You and your family all have a wonderful Christmas too.
I agree it would seem strange to wake up on Christmas morning to 70 degrees, but I'd prefer that to what we're getting here (15 degrees this morning). My poor son in Minnesota woke up yesterday to 25 below zero. OUCH!
Good luck with your writing. My biggest problem with writing is finding time to do it. Let's both hope we can do better this coming year.
And yes, we will remember Jesus. My son who lives in American Fork will be coming up Christmas eve and Christmas afternoon, with his wife and 6 kids for dinner and our annual family program. I'm looking forward to reading the Scriptures and singing songs about Jesus's birth, then cap it off with The Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve just before they all go home. Fun times.
Hope your Christmas is wonderful, and good luck with your writing. Paul
